This class will teach the students submission grappling. The techniques involved are adjusted to the fact that you will be without a gi. The class teaches Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling and Judo techniques for No Gi competition and training. There is live sparring towards the end of class and this is completely optional for all students.
The uniform consists of a rash guard of any color and board shorts (preferably without metallic pieces sewn onto it (can tear up the mats!). A lot of people wear swim shorts or surf shorts if they don't feel like buying some MMA shorts. It is completely up to you. Once again we don't mind what color you wear.
The advanced class will assume that you are not completely new to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Once again all belt levels are welcome. The class is cover more advanced technique and preparation for competition. Towards the end of class there will be live sparring with opponents, however, it is completely up to you if you wish to spar or not.
The uniform consists of a rash guard worn under a Gi (aka Kimono). Some people choose not to wear a rash guard (it is optional). You may wear whatever color or combination of color Gi top and pants you wish (we are not strict). Some people prefer to also wear a mouth piece but this is optional as well.
Open mat is the best time to practice all the technique that you have been practicing in class. You will train at full strength with opponents. Your timing, strength, technique and endurance will be tested and improved in this class. The class is open to all belt levels.
The kids class is for just that, the kids. The class will teach technique and there will also be live sparring at the end of class. The children will train and prepare for tournaments in this class. All belt levels will attend this class.
